Norm and Evelyn Gibson’s Story

Thousands of loyal customers attended classes at Gibson’s Healthful Living stores in Riverside and San Bernardino from 1975-1997. Others knew us from medical conventions as we enthusiastically demonstrated breadmaking, juicing, and healthful five-minute meals with state-of-the-art cookers.

When Norm’s Parkinson’s disease rapidly progressed, it was evident that my time should be spent with my husband instead of our store. We moved to Ohio to be near our caregiver daughter, Lynne.

By the providence of God, a year later I saw a brochure that said, “15 minutes on the Chi Machine is equal to 90 minutes of brisk walking--It does the work; you get the benefit.” Our support group’s speaker has just told us that exercise is key to slowing Parkinson’s.

On March 2, 1998, when Norm began using the Chi Machine, resting with his feet on it twice a day. Right away he came alive. By May he planted tomatoes and began driving the van again. We returned to CA to care for my aged parents. Now 7 years later (2006) Norm is functioning remarkably well, no longer in his previous vegetative state. He does all shipping, banking and errands for our mail order business.
